Service is provided for residents 60 years of age or older and/or handicapped persons. This service is provided for Lyons Township residents only for local shopping, doctor and dental appointments, social meetings, etc. A transportation permit is required.

You will need the following to obtain this permit:

• Proof of age and residency
• Bring a small photo of yourself to be placed on the permit

Reservation Procedures

We take reservations for a ride one day in advance. To reserve a ride call (708) 354-0292 or (708) 354-0293 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on the day before your trip.

 

Senior Shopping Days

Special Shopping days where you can go to the grocery store of your choice. You may go grocery shopping only one day a week. This is to give everyone a chance to shop for their groceries. You are allowed only 3 bags/parcels. North of the canal: Tuesday or Thursday South of the canal: Wednesday or Friday On these days, the drivers are permitted to help you on the bus with your groceries and bring them in as far as the curb.
