Lyons Township Mental Health Office

Created by public referendum in 1972, the LYONS TOWNSHIP MENTAL HEALTH COMMISSION is a local planning and funding body working to enhance community services for persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse problems.  Through the distribution of local property tax dollars, the Commission funds select services for township residents to enable them to lead more productive and fulfilling lives.  As the legally designated local mental health authority, we promote a wide range of coordinated mental health services based on assessment of need which make a positive difference in the mental health of our community.  The Commission identifies these needs and funds direct services for an array of programs at multiple agencies that reach all areas of the township.  In this way, we seek to fulfill our stated Mission of developing a "Comprehensive community-based system of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services for people who reside in Lyons Township."
